Payments Representative (Call Center) — Long-Term / Full-Time
Department: Customer Service / Payments Reports to: Team Lead —
Customer Service Preferred Payroll is seeking motivated,
customer-focused professionals to join our payments and customer
service team in a fast-paced call center environment for a
long-term role with growth opportunities. Handle inbound/outbound
customer interactions related to billing, payments, account
inquiries, and dispute resolution. Provide accurate, courteous
support while following payment policies and regulatory
requirements. Ideal candidates are reliable, detail-oriented, and
committed to delivering consistent, high-quality service with
reliable transportation. Key Responsibilities: - Answer inbound
customer calls and respond to payment-related inquiries via phone,
email, and chat. - Process payments, refunds, and adjustments
accurately according to company policy. - Investigate and resolve
billing disputes and payment errors, escalating when necessary. -
Verify customer identity and ensure compliance with security and
privacy procedures. - Maintain detailed, accurate records of
customer interactions in the CRM. - Meet individual and team KPIs
(call quality, resolution time, accuracy, productivity). - Follow
payment processing workflows, fraud-prevention checks, and
regulatory requirements. - Provide clear, empathetic communication
and educate customers on payment options and account status. -
Participate in training, team meetings, and quality improvement
initiatives. - Support continuous improvement by suggesting process
enhancements. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent;
college coursework or degree preferred. - 1 year customer service
or call center experience; payments/billing experience strongly
preferred. - Proficiency with CRM systems and basic
payment-processing platforms. - Strong verbal and written
communication skills. - Excellent attention to detail and numeric
accuracy. - Ability to handle repetitive tasks, multitask, and stay
calm under pressure. - Strong problem-solving skills and good
judgment. - Reliable attendance and commitment to a long-term role.
