Operations Managerto join ourTreasure House/DuPageTeam!ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:Supervises volunteer work force and paid employees.
Coordinates, plans, and assigns work to volunteers and employees.
Represents the agency by maintaining appropriate shop decorum and
cordial contacts with customers. Handles volunteer and employee
disputes, customer complaints and questions.Committed to
maintaining the highest standards of conduct and ethical behavior
that promotes a working environment that values respect, fairness,
and integrity when engaging with donors, patrons, and
clientsEnsures a clean, pleasant, welcoming and safe environment in
the shops.Responsible for the training, supervision, work schedules
and performance evaluations of staffConducts annual evaluations for
all paid employeesResponsible for recruitment, orientation, and
training of new volunteers and employees to shop polices and
procedures, and monitors follow-through.Provide reports to the
President of the Treasure House Board of Directors and Associate
Director of Development.Participates in the development and
management of store budgets.Assists in developing annual revenue
goal for resale shops.Responsible for shop-based accounting
functions necessary for shop operations. Includes making regular
bank deposits, handling paperwork associated with consignments, and
providing information for financial reportsChecks shops regularly
for maintenance needs and for shop security. Identifies maintenance
needs of shops. Negotiates contracts at direction of DuPage
Executive Director and/or DuPage Site Operations
Manager.Responsible for supporting service to clients referred by
agency staff to the resale shops for needed items of clothing,
household items, furniture or other goodsHandles promotional
activities, community involvement, advertising, and purchasing.
Delegates some of these duties to other paid staff.Ability to
manage multiple locations and travel as needed.Other duties as
assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:High school education or equivalency and 7
years retail/resale experience with increasing levels of
responsibilities.Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of
retail/resale experience with increasing levels of
responsibilities, preferred. Successful retail experience as a
store manager, required.Experience managing volunteers,
preferred.Demonstrated leadership abilitiesExcellent merchandizing
skillsAttention to detail, particularly in financial tracking and
reportingA record of innovative problem-solvingWillingness to speak
publicly throughout the community about DuPage services and the
shopsMust be able to respond appropriately to a variety of
situations, function independently, and demonstrate flexibilityMust
demonstrate tact, good judgment, and commitment to teamworkMust
have a vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance.Special
Conditions:Must be willing to work varied hours including some
evenings and weekendsMust be able to lift and carry inventory
weighing 25 pounds and stand for protracted periods of timeMust be
able to use common software applications, i.e., Word, Excel,
OutlookADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:MFS staff are required to provide
proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to
starting employment. If an approvedMedical is obtained, weekly
testing is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the essential
duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for
sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and
fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and
occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.The
employee will lift and/or move with capability of at least 50
