Summary: The main function is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations. Job Responsibilities: • Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers. • Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs. • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation. • Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed. • Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared. • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles. • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow. Skills: • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and manage ones time. • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models. • Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc. Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required or equivalent work experience required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. • 6-8 years experience required. Comments Position Title: BSA SR (Highly Technical) Position Location: Remote Provide locations/flexible work by preference: High preference for candidates in Market C Ability to work remote (If so, there will need additional approvals) : yes Acceptable time zone(s): EST or CST (must work EST hours) Days of the week: M-F Working Hours (Flexible): 9:30-5:30pm Intended length of Assignment: 3 mos Reason for open position: Additional needed, some backfill Roles and Responsibilities: Working with architects and developers, working with capability groups, more administrative work with Jira and Confluence, lots of group work, very learn as you go position Work with other Business Analysts and Product Architects to build product enhancements or new products for our technology platform that complement our payment solutions Gather and document business requirements Create and develop user stories, flowcharts, workflows and process diagrams Work closely with the UI/UX Designers to build best-in-class user experiences Support testing and training to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of new or existing products Maintain overall product knowledge across solutions Perform other related duties as assigned Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Experience: Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira Experience writing users stories and acceptance criteria using industry standard methodologies Skilled in the creation of workflows and diagrams for complex solutions Understanding of how to elicit functional and non-functional requirements Ability to communicate with development teams and experience designers Must Have Technical Skills: Jira/Confluence Waterfall/Agile/Scaled Agile Experience Translating User stories into technical requirements (gherkin) Flex Skills/Nice to Have: SQL Experience working with architects, developers, etc Postman Json Soft Skills: Flexibility Adaptability • Highly organized • Ability to maintain time management • Critical thinker • A Multi tasker with the ability to pivot into different spaces easy • Ability to communicate with development teams and experience designers Strong critical thinking skills Ability to analyze complex business needs Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions Experience in translating business requirements into functional specifications, design models and workflow diagrams Ability to solve problems and provide alternative solutions Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and stakeholders Education/Certifications: Bachelors; experience more important than education Ref: 404-IT Pittsburgh LI-AK1 M1
