that matter. Summary The Senior Power BI Developer will lead the
design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade BI
solutions that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
for executive and business stakeholders. This role is ideal for an
experienced developer with deep Power BI expertise, strong
programming background, and industry experience in retail /
restaurants / events / supply chain / rentals, who has partnered
directly with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations and
created BI solutions used at Executive level. This position will
support our Technology Services team. It is eligible to work a
hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or
show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out
of any of the following locations: Dallas, TX Atlanta, GA Chicago,
IL Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Design, build, and
maintain scalable Power BI data models (star schemas, tabular
models) and reports using best practices in DAX and data modeling.
• Develop visually compelling, user-centric executive and
operational dashboards for Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and
Operations, with clear narratives and KPIs. • Engineer
high-performance models with efficient DAX, appropriate
aggregations, and incremental refresh to avoid performance
bottlenecks and support large data volumes. • Collaborate directly
with Finance on forecasting and profitability views, Marketing on
campaign and customer analytics, Supply Chain on inventory and
logistics, and Operations on event performance dashboards. •
Implement and manage row-level security, workspaces, data gateways,
and deployment pipelines in the Power BI Service in alignment with
governance standards. • Troubleshoot and tune existing reports and
models to improve refresh times, query performance, and overall
user experience. • Document data models, KPI definitions, and
report logic to enable self-service analytics and ensure
consistency across departments. • Mentor analysts and junior
developers on Power BI best practices, DAX patterns, and
performance optimization techniques. Education & Experience •
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or
a similar quantitative discipline. • Strong general programming
skills, with prior experience in languages such as C++, and the
ability to adopt and apply modern practices in scripting and data
engineering (e.g., Python or similar). • 5–8 years of hands-on
experience in business intelligence or data analytics, with at
least 4 years focused primarily on Power BI development. • Advanced
expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modeling
for analytical workloads. • Strong SQL skills and experience
working with relational databases and/or data warehouses (e.g., SQL
Server, Azure SQL, Synapse, Snowflake). • Demonstrated ability to
design and deliver high-performance models and reports, including
query optimization, aggregation strategies, and handling large
datasets without performance degradation. • Proven experience
working directly with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and
Operations stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business
questions into technical solutions, and deliver production-ready
dashboards. • Industry experience in retail and/or restaurants,
with familiarity around metrics such as same-store sales,
profitability, ticket size, inventory turns, labor utilization, and
customer segmentation. • Excellent communication skills and the
ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs to
non-technical business partners. • Experience with Snowflake and
Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake,
Databricks) or comparable modern data platforms. • Exposure to
other visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and understanding
of when to leverage different tools. • Experience contributing to
or defining BI standards, governance, and self-service analytics
frameworks in a multi-department environment. Travel Requirements
