Job Description Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW Ensure the
maintenance of perpetual inventory record systems, requisition
order points, etc. and maintenance of inventories at adequate
supply levels based on orders, production schedules, and forecasts
for raw material, manufactured, purchased parts, and or supplies;
responsible for purchasing, receiving, checking, storage, shipping,
traffic and distribution. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and
be accountable for a system for tracking and maintaining physical
inventories of raw material, finished components, purchased parts,
and supply inventories. Supervise receiving, stores, traffic, and
shipping operations to include hiring, directing, scheduling,
training, evaluating, and disciplining department employees in
accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Responsible for the storage, inventory, and distribution of
in-process, finished, and/or purchases goods and/or materials.
Purchase materials, supplies, and services of prescribed designs,
specifications, and quality requirements to the most economic
advantage. Maintain supply relationships to ensure sources are
established and qualified, quotations obtained, purchases
negotiated as to specifications, terms, delivery dates, etc.,
Create and maintain “Preferred Supplier Guide”. Advise and update
estimating on pricing trends for key materials and/or components
used in establishing quotations to our customers. Maintain strong
customer relations interacting primarily on issues concerning
shipment of customer orders. Participate in planning and
establishing long range purchasing and inventory objectives. Report
on purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving, and traffic related
issues at the daily production meeting. Control expenditures to
conform to budgetary requirements. Maintain a clean, orderly and
safe work environment; promote housekeeping and safety throughout
the shop. Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or
technical school; or two years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined
by the Operations Manager; ability to read and interpret documents,
manuals, procedures, etc.; able to calculate simple mathematical
equations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; strong
negotiating, analytical, organizational, communication, and
leadership skills necessary; successful in problem solving
especially in situations with limited standardization. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative

This job requires that the employee occasionally bend, twist, reach

communicate verbally. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the
ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is
occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise
level in the work environment is usually moderate.
